Northern's unique individual grower account system pays each grower for only their own boxes. This system rewards growers who produce higher quality and flavor. Most packers use a pool system which pays growers an average pool price based on color.

Northern packs "soft" to minimize apple bruising.
Northern combines Aweta "brush drop" technology with "direct pack" lines to deliver apples with fewer bruises. Our brush drop transfers are exceptionally gentle for handling apples. Our direct pack systems mean apples are handled only once. Pre-size systems, in contrast, require apples to be run into bins and across machinery twice.

Leading edge optical technology produces more consistent color.
Northern packs with two "state of the art" Aweta optical sizers. Aweta is recognized as the world leader in optical apple sorting technology. Each apple is digitally scanned by two camera systems to produce more consistent color in each box.
